Position Accountability
This position manages all program components of United Way of the DuPage Area which
includes supporting the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing support of volunteers
throughout the DuPage area. The Program Manager is responsible for managing all
activities related to the Community Impact Steering Committee. This position is also
responsible for supporting collection, organizations and analysis of qualitative and
quantitative data for purposes of evaluation and communication of program and initiative
activities.
Principal Responsibilities
• Manage multi-year Impact funding process.
• Manage staff and volunteer support for all panel activities.
• Support other program funding activities (e.g., Financial Stability, Children & Youth, Health
& Wellness and Venture Investment application processes).
• Manage, analyze, and communicate program funding and initiative data across the
system.
• Responsible for assisting the Senior Fundraising Manager in developing materials that
clearly articulate the UW core message and local DuPage area impact materials.
• Acts as an internal and external troubleshooter, ensuring that all expected results are met
in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures high customer satisfaction.
• Participate in community activities as a representative of United Way of DuPage Area.
• Supports United Way of DuPage’s events as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years of business or not-for-profit experience in a similar capacity.
• Able to present to small and large group of people.
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of DuPage area health and human service needs.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage (multiple) projects from inception to conclusion.
Ability to identify and remove barriers.
• Demonstrates ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a sensitivity and awareness of diversity and
cultural competency issues and their effect on the work performed.
