Fundraising Manager - Community Relations

Position Accountability
The Fundraising Manager reports to the Senior Fundraising Manager and is responsible for
identification, cultivation and solicitation of new Tocqueville/Leadership Donors from our
workplace and residential donor database. Additionally, the Fundraising Manager is
responsible for managing all aspects of coordination between the office and the Board of
Directors for community events, community awareness and special projects. Requires
flexibility to work some non-traditional hours and some travel throughout the DuPage
County Area.
Principal Responsibilities
• Prepares Tocqueville/leadership donor and prospect information for individual
solicitations and strategic giving.
• Maintains accurate and current numerical data for donors, including: goals, projections
and verbally reported results.
• Writing, editing and maintaining necessary Major Gifts information in all appropriate
organizational communications; including key market segmentations and other special
initiatives.
• Participates in Leadership Giving Projects and works collaboratively with UWMC
Tocqueville/Leadership giving staff to grow major individual gifts to the United Way.
• Works with Senior Fundraising Manager to recruit and manage volunteers for major gift
solicitations.
• Develops, in conjunction with Senior Fundraising Manager, a strategic individual giving
campaign plan to maximize campaign results. Evaluates results and develops corrective
and/or improved procedures and methods for the next campaign.
• Manages recognition of all major gifts.
• Recommends, coordinates and implements strategies to grow the residential campaign.
• Manages campaign, public and civic group appearances.
• Manages all volunteer activities with community awareness including meetings, agendas,
etc.
• Manages all media relations and press releases.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or combination of equivalent employment and education
experience.
• Minimum of two years of Major Gift’s fundraising or equivalent experience desired.
• Knowledge of ANDAR and Donor Perfect preferred (will train).
• Exceptional writer with the ability to customize communication products to fit various
audiences
• Ability to create and maintain relationships with donors and volunteers.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills both written & verbal.
• Fully proficient and experienced in latest version of Microsoft Office Environment (Word,
Excel & PowerPoint).
• Utilizes creative customer focused service skills to achieve desired results.
